Tabiiy areali – Afrika q’ita Angola va Kongo Respublikalarning hududi, ayniqsa quruq tropik va subtropik o'rmonlari. Asosiy o’z hayot vaqti zich ( 12 - 30 metr ) daraxt tepasida o’tkaziladi, kamdan kam hollarda erga tushadi. Bu turi 10 - 20 boshdan iborat guruhlarni tashkil etadi. Oziqlanish ratsioniga meva, urug'i, o'simlik nektari, hasharotlar kiradi. Oziqani saqlash uchun o’z yonoq qopchalari foydalanadi. Urg’ochi jinsiy voya 3 yoshidan boshlanadi, urg’ozi esa 5 yoshidan. Homiyladorlik davri 5,5 - 6 oy davom etadi. Urg'ochi faqat 1ta bola tug'adi. Tug'ish oraligi bir yarim yil. Maymun bolasi to’g’ilgandan keyin ikki haftadan boshlab qattiq ovqat bilan oziqlanadi. Tur Qizil kitobga zaif turlar qatoriga kiritilgan. Yovvoyi tabiatda umr ko'rish davomiyligi 20 - 25 yil, tutqunlikda 30 yil mavjud.
Обитает на Африканском континенте в Анголе и Республике Конго. Заселяет сухие тропические и субтропические леса. Все время проводит в густых кронах деревьев на высоте 12 - 30 м в группах по 10 - 20 особей, на землю спускается очень редко. Основу рациона питания составляют фрукты, семена, нектар растений, насекомые. Имеются защечные мешки для перетаскивания пищи. Половое созревание наступает у самок в 3 года, у самцов в 5 лет. Беременность длится 5,5 - 6 месяцев. Рождается обычно 1 детеныш. Интервал между родами полтора года. Малыш с двухнедельного возраста начинает есть твердую пищу. Вид занесен в Красную Книгу как близкий к уязвимому положению. Продолжительность жизни в дикой природе 20 - 25 лет, в неволе до 30 лет.
It inhabits the African continent in Angola and the Republic of Congo. It lives in dry tropical and subtropical forests, spending all its time in the dense tree canopy at heights of 12 - 30 meters and rarely descending to the ground. Its diet consists mainly of fruits, seeds, plant nectar, and insects. It has cheek pouches for carrying food. Females reach sexual maturity at about 3 years of age, and males at about 5 years. Pregnancy lasts 5.5 - 6 months, and usually a single infant is born. The interval between births is about one and a half years. From two weeks of age, the infant begins to eat solid food. This species is listed in the Red Book as near threatened. Its lifespan is 20 - 25 years in the wild and up to 30 years in captivity.
